We are 100% foster based which means we have no building (private or public) to hold animals so every pet adopted from us has spent time being socialized by a family! It takes a very special type of family to change their routine and devote their time to an animal in need and without those wonderful souls, APARC would not be able to help!

Since fostering is a family affair, please make sure that everyone in your household is ready, willing, and able to provide a loving home for an animal in need. Many adults and children have a difficult time adjusting to a new schedule or routine, and also have a difficult time “giving up” an animal to its forever home. Make sure everyone is ready for this new, albeit temporary, addition to your family, and please be realistic with your time commitment to a foster animal and don’t overextend yourself when starting out. We do not want you to be put into a situation that leaves you feeling uncomfortable! Since we are 100% foster based the length of time you may be fostering can vary, sometimes due to stray holds (a minimum of 14 days plus the time it takes to vet them) to how long it takes to find the right family for them. All of this means a foster very well may end up being in your home for months before they are healthy enough, or the right family is found. We understand that this is a big favor to ask, but we also know the world is full of amazing people willing to help out!
