Brooks
Brooks is a mainstay here at APARC and we wouldn’t have it any other way. He joined our family on June 27, 2022 after being thrown from a car along a highway exit in Clark County, OH.
When we first met him we learned he was already covered in scars and wounds in various degrees of healing, and missing nearly all of his teeth (many appear to be broken off or pulled for fighting purposes) but about 8; yet none of that stopped him from smiling and handing out kisses.
His foster family has devoutly cared for him despite his behavioral issues (not getting along with one of their dogs, eating a door and couch cushions, ect) because at the end of the day they know that before he came to them he had not been shown love and comfort before. From the second he walked into their home, he fell in love with their son and has spent every night that he could pressed against him, snuggling him and even being his pillow.
After multiple failed adoptions and a cancer scare, we determined that it was in Brook’s best interest to live out the rest of his life with his foster family; because, at the end of the day, he is a good boy and we love him enough to treat any illnesses that may come his way.
